ARTIST STATEMENT
Cathy is a Melbourne based artist and her work ranges from realism to more intuitive and ethereal abstract and semi-abstract pieces. Cathy has been a finalist in several significant national art competitions: the 2018 and 2017 Kennedy Prize and the 2016 Contemporary Art Awards. In 2018, she also won the Best 2D artwork in the Swanpool Creative Recycled Art Prize and she became a member of the Melbourne Society of Woman Painters and Sculptors. In 2019 Cathy became a finalist in the Wyndham Art Prize and the Ravenswood Women's Art Prize. She also won first prize in the Australian Guild of Realist Artists' President's Challenge. Cathy became a finalist in the Noel Counihan Art Award 2020 and in 2021 she was a finalist in the Art Lovers Australia Prize.
